Hello, Shanshan.
I like your discussion of how you would use your PLN post -course. In my view, Twitter is great place for expanding our PLN. If you use LinkedIn, you would see that LinkedIn is a good place for job searching, but it is not as much as a platform for people to openly engage in a conversation. For example, if we use Twitter, and we post and repost other’s posts, we have tons of potential viewer, and those who are interested in our topic, can join our discussion. So I am not suprised when Aimer said that he does not use Linkedin often. I would recommend to use Twitter as a platform for you to discuss your academic questions, this is also what I plan to do post-course.
Thank you for your post, I like how you remember to collect your PLN’s contact information. This is a good preparation for job search later on. I have just started my job search in Linkedin, personally, I don’t really see the benefit of it, maybe because I didn’t use it correctly. I followed my teachers and some of my classmates, and I find they are also not very active on this platform, maybe I will switch another method later on.
Hi Ali,
I like your discussion of Amir’s interview about his Twitter usage. I think his job/profession benefit him from attracting people to interact with him on Twitter. He invites politicians on his podcast, hence, I imagine the topics are very controversial and can elicit people’s response (I have not listened to his podcast so I am just guessing here). The nature of his job make it easier for him to attract audience and expand the conversation. The situation might be different for us, I don’t know. Have you ever think about how your future job could attract more people /professionals to interact with you on Twitter?
